System Update: Eastern Fire Network Summer Workshop at Tall Timbers

This week I was fortunate to have the opportunity to network with fire professionals, ecologists, social scientists, and other researchers from around the Eastern US at the EFNet Summer Workshop graciously hosted by Penn State at Tall Timbers. We spent the workshop developing a plan for the EFNet research program and working to better understand the needs of fire research in the Eastern US.

System Update: Began Eastern Fire Network Summer Fellowship at Tall Timbers

Today I began my participation in the EFNet Summer 2026 Fellowship being hosted by Penn State at Tall Timbers in Tallahassee. I am so lucky to be a part of such an amazing program. We will begin with orientation and a workshop hosted by EFNet, connecting with people involved in fire from around the Eastern US, and then the other fellows and I will be working together to develop a transdisciplinary research project to meet the needs of those involved with fire in the Eastern US. I am so proud to be a part of this team and am so lucky to have such an amazing opportunity to work alongside such brilliant people.

Today I was accepted for the EFNet Summer 2026 Fellowship at Tall Timbers in Tallahassee! The program centers around engaging in transdisciplinary research, collaboration, and professional development focused on fire science and management. I am so excited for this opportunity over the summer!

Retroactively posting. Assisted major professor and graduate student with prescribed fire. Part of graduate student's reintroducing fire to long unburned stands of longleaf pine. Burned on 2 hectares and assisted with mop-up.
